This collection contains sound recordings made from directly in front of some of the most famous and greatest art works ever produced. Plug in the headphones and listen to the sound of being in the actual space of the art work. Hear the sound of other art lovers and imagine yourself in the gallery as you look at the painting on the screen of your mp3 player.
One of the dreams of the internet was to bring the greatest art works of the generations into the homes of every person. This is my small offering in the spirit of that dream.All of these works were recorded by me at the museums where they are displayed - The Louvre in Paris and the Rijksmusem and the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.
The accompanying images are all in the public domain as far as I can tell. Please let me know if that is not the case. You can replace them with images of your own - perhaps taken at the museums themselves when, like me, you have been a tourist in art history.
